Throughout any given week, I strive to share hilarious convicting vulnerable stellar hopeful things on my Twitter and Facebook. At the end of the week, I condense the very best of Internetdom into a WOW-tastic blog post I call The Weekend WOW. And what a wonderful WOW-tastic week on the World Wide Web it was.
+ WOW what a hilarious Twitter handle: @HonestsSlogans. Because some of these company slogans make a lot more sense than the actual slogans. Here’s my favorite entry among them all:
— Honest Slogans (@HonestsSlogans) December 13, 2013
+ WOW what a convicting tweet: Judah Smith didn’t need 140 characters; he cut right to the chase.
Anxiety is proof that I haven’t included God.
— Judah Smith (@judahsmith) January 7, 2014
+ WOW what a vulnerable blog post: Jon Acuff’s “The hardest lesson I learned in 2013.” A masterful satirist, Jon gets super vulnerable here, culminating in the line: “Chasing new adventures means losing old friends.” Sobering words, and yet the continual prospect of new supernaturally directed friends keeps my own adventurous soul hopeful.
+ WOW what a stellar worship set: Matt Redman’s session at Onething 2013. If you’ve got 90 minutes to spare or are just looking for some uplifting background music for your busywork, I highly recommend this video. It was my favorite worship session from this year’s Onething conference. Check out 54:27 for “10,000 Reasons” and 1:14:04 for “Cornerstone,” my two favorite songs from the session. (BTW: a full recap of that Kansas City conference hits my blog next week!)
+ WOW what a hopeful song: “Hope (Banjo Song)” by Pompton Lakes. “This is not the end; this is where we begin.” That line is the pure essence of hope, both for this life and the next, and it’s one I will be telling myself over and over in the unknown year to come — an unknown year undoubtedly filled with many endings though many beginnings anew.
That’s it for the WOW! Tell me: how was your week? Do you need a little bit (or a lot) of hope like me?
